Mouse monoclonal  16A11 is excellent for  the detection of Elav proteins HuD, Hel-N1 and HuC by western blot and  immunohistochemistry. It has been extensively used to identify neuronal precursor cells.   It is known to react with human , mouse, rat, and zebrafish Elav proteins.  It is an IgG2b and was generated against a  peptide found in HuD, HuC and Hel-N1 but not in HuR.
